According to a US study Participating in various physical activities and limiting TV is the key to successful weight loss among teens (Yahoo News).
Males who lost weight did 11.7 hours of physical activity per week on an average and females 7.6 hours of physical activity per week on an average. Females were more likely to participate in weight training and strengthening exercises. Teens that were able to lose weight spend less time with TV as compared to teens who gained weight.
Kerri Boutelle, lead author and assistant professor in the department of pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Medical School, says it is clear that exercising, staying active and limiting sedentary activity is essential to teens losing weight.
